Overview
This manual provides troubleshooting guidance for the Stator Leak Monitoring System (SLMS) developed by HANLA IMS Co., Ltd. It is designed to assist operators in diagnosing and resolving common issues related to hydrogen gas detection, sensor flow, and controller current calibration in marine applications. The manual emphasizes safe handling, proper system storage, and electrical precautions.
1. Safety Information (p.3-4)
-
Electrical Hazards: Equipment contains high-voltage components. Always isolate power before installation or maintenance.
-
Permit Requirement: Obtain proper permits before any work.
-
Anti-Static Precautions:
-
Handle PCBs with care to prevent ESD damage.
-
Use grounded wrist straps and avoid touching components or contacts.
-
Never remove or insert PCBs with power applied.
-
2. Storage Before Installation (p.5)
-
Store in a dry, weather-protected area.
-
Do not unpack until ready to install.
-
Inspect for damage, including scratches, bent parts, or defective connectors.
-
Note: Shipping containers are not waterproof.
3. Troubleshooting Guide
3.1 SENSOR FLOW Alarm (p.7-9)
Occurs when airflow to the hydrogen detector falls outside the 495–505 ml/min range.
Checkpoints:
-
AUTO DRAIN Valve: Must be closed during normal operation.
-
Pump Failure: Confirm pump function using MFC1 ball flowmeter; replace pump if necessary.
-
Sampling Line Blockage: Inspect and clean sampling lines.
-
MFC3 Fault: If actual flow is present but incorrect data is transmitted, replace MFC3.
-
Disconnect SENSOR IN line and verify airflow.
-
Check MFC3 ball float; if <0.5 L/min, replace.
-
3.2 Gas Detector Performance Verification (p.10)
Used to confirm the accuracy of hydrogen measurement.
Steps:
-
Set SLMS to TEST MODE via HMI.
-
Set Dilution Rate to 1.
-
Stop the pump.
-
Turn gas selector valve to STD.
-
Connect H₂ 100ppm calibration gas to STD INLET.
-
Adjust regulator for 1.2 L/min flow on MFC1.
-
Check measured gas concentration; if incorrect, perform ZERO/SPAN calibration.
3.3 SLMS Controller Current Calibration (p.11-12)
Required when displayed values for H₂ concentration, airflow, or O₂ level deviate from actual values.
Tools: Current calibrator (4~20 mA output)
Procedure:
-
Connect calibrator to the analog input channel.
-
On the SLMS screen, enter the settings menu (password: 1234).
-
Input 4 mA and click ZERO calibration.
-
Input 20 mA and click SPAN calibration.
-
Repeat for each channel as needed.
