Overview
The D-30 Communication Distributor is designed to act as an intermediary between multiple masters and multiple slaves in a MODBUS RTU network. Unlike conventional MODBUS setups where one master communicates with multiple slaves, the D-30 supports up to three masters and ensures the correct transmission of data between masters and slaves.
1. Safety Information (p.3-4)
- Electrical Hazards:
- Ensure power isolation before installation or maintenance.
- The device operates at high voltage, requiring proper handling.
- Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Precautions:
- Handle PCBs with care to prevent static damage.
- Store in conductive packaging and avoid touching component leads.
- DO NOT install or remove PCBs while power is applied.
2. Storage Before Installation (p.5)
- Store the equipment in a dry, sheltered area to prevent environmental damage.
- Before installation, check for:
- Bent or damaged components.
- Scratches, dents, or other physical deformities.
- Properly seated connectors and leads.
3. Features (p.6)
- Supports up to three masters communicating with multiple slaves.
- MODBUS RTU Protocol support with Read Holding Registers (0x03).
- Flexible communication interfaces:
- RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 selectable via jumpers.
- Supports baud rates of 4800, 9600, and 19200 bps.
4. Technical Specifications (p.6)
Parameter | Value |
---|---|
Power Supply | 24V DC, Max 0.32A |
Communication Type | RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 |
Baud Rate Options | 4800, 9600, 19200 bps (jumper selectable) |

5. Connection & Wiring (p.7)
- RS-485 Communication:
- Requires A/B wiring with a 120Ω termination resistor if needed.
- RS-422 Communication:
- Supports full-duplex communication with separate transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) lines.
- RS-232 Communication:
- Uses Tx, Rx, and GND terminals (no termination resistor required).
6. Configuration & Settings (p.8)
- Jumper Settings for Communication Mode:
- Select RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 using internal jumpers.
- Baud Rate Selection:
- Adjustable via DIP switch and jumpers.
- Termination Resistor Setting:
- 120Ω termination resistors should be enabled if the system lacks built-in resistors.
7. Revision History (p.9)
- Version R2 (2025.03.03) – Form revision update.
