Overview
This document provides technical guidance for the Modbus Module manufactured by Hanla IMS Co., Ltd. It includes safety precautions, installation instructions, operational functions, troubleshooting procedures, and product specifications. This module is designed to transmit data collected through serial communication to other devices via Ethernet.
1. Safety Information (p.3-4)
- Danger & Warning Notices: Follow all safety instructions to prevent serious injury or equipment damage.
- Electrical Safety: Isolate power before installation or maintenance.
- Anti-Static Precautions: Handle PCBs with care to prevent static discharge damage. Use proper grounding methods and avoid touching components directly.
2. Storage Before Installation (p.5)
- Store in a dry, sheltered area to prevent moisture and temperature damage.
- Inspect all components for physical damage, including connectors and PCBs, before installation.

- LAN Ports: LAN1 and LAN2 for Ethernet communication.
- Power:
5. Operation (p.9-10)
5.1 Function
- Power Status LED:
- No LED: No power or abnormal power supply.
- Red LED: DC 24V power is applied, but internal DC 3.3V power is abnormal.
- Green LED: Normal operation status.
- RS-485/422 Communication LED:
- No LED: No communication.
- Green LED: Data is being transmitted or received.
5.2 RS-485/422 Selection
- RS-485: Set switches 1 and 2 to ON, and 3 and 4 to OFF.
- RS-422: Set switches 1 and 2 to OFF, and 3 and 4 to ON.
- Custom Configuration: Channels 7 and 8 can be configured separately by adjusting the switch settings.
5.3 Cable Connection Method
- Connect power and communication cables as per the pin description. Ensure proper grounding to prevent interference.
6. Troubleshooting (p.11)
- Serial Communication Failure:
- Cause: Line fault, incorrect baud rate, or faulty PCB.
- Solution: Check Rx/Tx lines, baud rate, Slave ID, and replace the PCB if necessary.
- Power Failure:
- Cause: Line break, incorrect connection, or faulty PCB.
- Solution: Inspect power lines, connections, and replace the PCB if required.
- Ethernet Communication Failure:
- Cause: Incorrect Ethernet settings or faulty PCB.
- Solution: Check Ethernet connections, IP/Gateway/Subnet settings, and replace the PCB if needed.
