This guide provides troubleshooting steps for SD card recognition errors in MCP (Main Control Panel) / RCP (Remote Control Panel).
An error may result from a faulty SD card reader, a laptop issue, or a corrupted SD card.
2. Troubleshooting Steps
Step 1: Check with Another Reader or PC
- Connect the SD card to another SD card reader or laptop.
- Check if the SD card appears as a new drive (e.g., E: or F:).
Step 2: Run Error Checking via Command Prompt
- Press “Windows Key + R” to open the Run dialog box.
- Type “cmd” and press “Ctrl + Shift + Enter” to run as Administrator.
- When prompted, click “Yes” to proceed.
Step 3: Perform Disk Repair Using 'chkdsk'
- In the Command Prompt (Administrator) window, type the following:
- If the SD card is connected as E: drive, type:
chkdsk e: /f - If connected as F: drive, type:
chkdsk f: /f
- If the SD card is connected as E: drive, type:
- Press Enter to start the error-checking process.
- Wait for the message confirming SD card error repair completion.
- After the repair, check whether the SD card’s storage capacity is displayed correctly.
Step 4: Format or Replace the SD Card (If Still Not Recognized)
- If the SD card remains unrecognized after performing the above steps:
- Try formatting the SD card.
- If formatting fails, replace it with SD card below.
