1. Introduction
This document provides a troubleshooting guide for activating Windows on HGD-200 & HGS-200 PC when the activation has expired or has not been applied.
2. Prerequisites
Before proceeding, ensure you have the following:
- A smartphone with USB tethering capability
- A USB A to C cable to connect the PC and smartphone (for Android devices)
- A USB keyboard and mouse
- The product key (located on the back of the PC device; take a photo or note it down)
3. Enabling USB Tethering
- Connect the PC to the smartphone using a USB A to C cable.
- On the smartphone, enable USB tethering:
- Settings → Network & Internet → Hotspot & tethering → USB tethering (Turn ON)
- Verify the PC is connected to the internet:
- If the internet is not connected, check the tethering settings.
- If the internet is connected, proceed to the activation process.
4. Entering the Product Key and Activating Windows
4.1 Running Command Prompt as Administrator
- Press the Windows Key on the keyboard and type CMD.
- Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
4.2 Entering the Product Key
- In the command window, type the following command and press Enter:
- Replace
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
with the actual product key.
- Replace
- If the product key is installed successfully, a confirmation message will appear. Click OK.
4.3 Activating Windows
- In the same Command Prompt window, type the following command and press Enter:
- If activation is successful, a confirmation message will appear. Click OK.
5. Verifying Windows Activation Status
- Open the Command Prompt (Admin) again.
- Type the following command and press Enter:
- A window will appear displaying license details.
- If "Licensed" is shown, Windows activation was successful.
- Once confirmed, the PC is ready for use.
⚠️ Important Notes
- Ensure the PC is connected to the internet via USB tethering before activation.
- Always use Administrator privileges when running Command Prompt.
- Double-check the product key before entering it.
- If activation fails, verify the product key and internet connection, then retry the process.
